The Do's & Don'ts

  • Do NOT use cooking sprays or butter. These will burn and become acrid at high temperatures.
  • Do NOT use in non-stick coated pans.
  • Prior to use and after use; Lightly oil griddle or 12" skillet with a High Smoke Point Oil i.e  Peanut, Coconut, Avacodo, Sunflower, Safflower, Extra Virgin Olive Oil or oils stated as "Light"
  • Always warm up slowly. Much like an Oven warms. Cast Iron will sustain and maintain its heat and when  warmed gradually, you will have consistant heat and  no Hot Spots.
  • Do NOT place cast iron in dishwasher or let soak in water.
  • Should you marinate your food wipe off excess with paper towel prior to use. It's best to baste as you grill. Sauces will only burn up and produce access smoke. 
  • Cast iron is safe for all cooking methods and surfaces; Glass top Do Not drop or slide, induction, electric, gas, oven, outdoor grill and open fire.
